Dressed for Battle
Stained Glass, Glass Beads, Tin Foil, Polymer Clay
It seemed only natural that a depiction of the medieval war horse should be included in a series I am creating which explores the way humans have dressed their equine partners throughout history. I was intrigued by how I could portray the types of heavy armor which protected different parts of the horse, and after experimenting with metal and silver, I decided on aluminum foil which, when crinkled, painted, and lightly sanded, simulated the plates in a satisfactory manner.
