My good friend Hester died of ovarian cancer. We loved hiking to the stream behind her house and foraging for smooth stones. This piece is about her life; the top section her creativity and curiosity and love of the outdoors and her favorite color orange, the middle section the discordance of her illness, the bottom section her calm and still self as she died.
